Privacy policy

Flex Music Labs LLC ("we") makes ComposerFlex and PianoFlex. This policy explains what information we handle and why. In short: our programs collect nothing, and we keep only what we need to sell you a license and answer your email.

1. The programs. ComposerFlex and PianoFlex do not connect to the internet. They send nothing about you or your use of them to us or anyone else. Your license key, email address, settings, presets, songs and recordings stay on your computer.

2. When you buy.

  • What the reseller collects. Dodo Payments, our reseller and seller of record, collects your name, email address, billing country, and payment details to process your order, under its own privacy policy: Dodo Payments Privacy Policy. We never see your full card details.
  • What we receive from it. Your email address, the products you bought, your order number, and the country and amount of the sale.
  • What we use them for:
    • to create your license key, which works only with your email address;
    • to answer questions;
    • to process refunds;
    • for our accounts and taxes.
  • Our key service. The service that creates your key runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure.
  • Showing your key. Our thanks page shows your key after checkout, and flexmusiclabs.com/key shows it again whenever you ask. Both look it up at our reseller with your email address and order number (the Payment ID in your receipt), and keep neither.

3. When you email us. Mail to [email protected] is forwarded by Cloudflare to our mailbox at Google (Gmail). We use your message and address only to reply.

4. Our website.

  • No tracking. flexmusiclabs.com uses no analytics, no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts or embeds.
  • Hosting and downloads. The site and the program downloads are hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect them. It may set a strictly necessary security cookie for that purpose.
  • Checkout. Checkout takes place on Dodo Payments' own pages, under its privacy and cookie policies.

5. News by email, only if you ask. At checkout there is an optional box, unticked unless you tick it: "Email me news from Flex Music Labs (a few times a year at most)." If you tick it, we may email you our news at that address, a few times a year at most. If you don't, we email you only about your purchase: your order, a refund, or a problem with your key. You can stop the news at any time with the unsubscribe link in each email, or by writing to [email protected]. Ticking the box or not has no effect on your purchase.

6. Sharing. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it except with the services named above that process it for us, or where the law requires.

7. How long we keep it. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require (generally up to seven years). Emails are kept for as long as they're useful for answering you, then deleted.

8. Your choices and rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights under local law, including complaining to your data protection authority.

9. Children. Our website and software are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes. If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
